Satellite World Map
It was very exiting when Google come out with Google Map. Previously we can only see drawn maps but now we can actually see the real pictures from a satellite view of places anywhere in the world.

We can also zoom in into a considerable distance that we can even see people walking on the street. However, the satellite view is not the latest picture, they are at least a year old and for some remote places, it can be up to five years old. This is quite obvious since real time imagery may posses a threat to national security.
Other than that, Google Map also provides route planners for your driving directions, but limited to big cities in the US, Australia, Canada, Japan, etc.

Google also provide a standalone version of Google Map, called Google Earth. It can be downloaded and installed in Mac, Windows or Linux machine which it offers enhanced globe viewing features. The basic version of Google Earth is free. Whereas, there are also a Plus version that cost about $20 which have GPS supports, drawing tools and better printing capability. There is also a Pro version that cost about $400 which meant for commercial use only. It provide more detailed on each geographical area which might help businesses that requires such information.
